A year ago this month we were in Singapore. The Chinese Gardens held some surprises.

Why are comments being deleted? What is it that cannot be said?

There were a lot of comments. Some are linked to advertising. The ones in Italian were difficult to interpret.

I have removed several of my own comments.

Autumn tidy-up.

I feel rather disinclined to comment when my free expression could be ruthlessly erased.

The Italian comments were fun. Erasing them was most unwelcoming.

I may not visit this censorious site, as another poster claimed, again.

The photographs aren't that great anyway so I may not bother with this excuse for an ego trip.

Play fair or don't play.

Indeed I may say it again...often.

You do realize that, as the blog author, you may remove them permanently? They wouldn't show up any longer.

Whomever "drew peacock" is ... well, they should feel fortunate that you are not using TypePad or WordPress or one of the other blogging tools, as those will allow the owner to MODIFY comments, not to just erase them.

Thus, Blogger essentially maintains that the blog owner owns the space, but not the comments; thus, the owner has the right to allow / deny comment posting, but not to modify the comments, as the content doesn't belong to the blog owner.

This is in contrast to the others, which essentially maintain that the entire content of the site belongs to the blog owner, and, thus, becomes the property of the owner once submitted to the site - to modify or not, to profit by or not, as they see fit.

Personally? I enjoy your pictures, and subscribe to your feed (just added your comment feed this morning). Thanks for putting them out there.

Kind of a long-winded comment - feel free to delete, as you choose, as, really, this was informational primarily to you, not to the sour-grapes people out there.
