Aren't those flowers just great? I love how they sparkle!

I've got your Flickr stream on my blog reader now. Thanks!

Thank you Davimack.
I'll link up with your Flickr account when I have a moment. Diopter photography can become very hypnotic.
Thanks, again, for setting me off on such an interesting path.

Oh, certainly. I'm just happy to keep seeing your pictures!

I've just purchased a Canon 400D (aka Digital Rebel XTi). It should arrive in a friend's suitcase towards the end of February, and I'll really start shooting again. I just can't abide the shoddy developers they've got in this country, nor the prices. Sigh. Going digital, but keeping the film body for special things - for when it'd be worth it to pay a fortune for good developing to get done.

Great news about getting a new Canon.
It might be worth your while contacting the local Gallery of Photography or National Photographic Archives centre to find a good place to get film developed. I had a hit and miss experience when looking for places to develop film and agree with you that it can be really expensive. However I was lucky to find several shops where the staff are enthusiastic and helpful and where rates are very reasonable. I also used the Internet to compare notes
and ask for advice. Finally got to one of the best shops in Dublin last week and couldn't have been more pleased.

Perhaps I'll drop my film in the mail to you, then, and finally have some good luck! I've actually had them burn holes in my film, and that's just not anywhere near the kind of service I'd expect, no matter the quality of the lab, you know?

I'm glad that you're enjoying the diopter lens - and I'm going to get back into that, since I finally got my Sigma lens through customs (I'd had it repaired). The Sigma is the one which really likes my diopter lens - the Tamron wouldn't focus with it so well, particularly when zoomed. I don't know why - something about the internal makeup of the thing, I'd guess. The Sigma will let me zoom out to 200mm & still have the 3x diopter lens on there, giving me quite a magnificent amount of closeup!
