A June Rose in Bud

Rose in Bud

The roses have been exceptionally numerous this year.
In bud, they are perfect subjects for
the photographer to study.

I particularly like the veins at the base, and that they're in focus. It's so often the tips of the leaves that are shown off, but the base of the petals can be more interesting. :)

I'm glad you noticed and liked this detail.

So many photos of roses focus on the perfectly opened flower. The dof in this one adds to a sense of life, I think.

It certainly draws attention to it, that's for certain! We ordinarily see the pretty colours, but not the veins, and the bits which remind us that they are alive in much the same way as we.
